Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic chocolate chip cookies that are perfect for Christmas gatherings or any time of year.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375F 190C

In a small bowl, mix flour and baking soda; set aside

In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

Gradually mix in the flour mixture

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown

Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely
