Homemade Toaster Strudel Pastries

These homemade toaster strudel pastries are a delicious and flaky treat thats perfect for breakfast or brunch. Filled with your favorite fruit jam and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze, theyre sure to be a hit with the whole family

Ingredients:

  • 1 package puff pastry dough
  • 1 cup fruit jam or preserves such as raspberry or strawberry
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Warm your oven up to 400F 200C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Follow the directions on the package to thaw the puff pastry dough

Put the fruit jam or preserves, cornstarch, and water in a small saucepan

Stir the food all the time over medium-low heat for about two to three minutes, or until it gets thick

Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit

Its time to thaw the puff pastry dough

On a lightly floured surface, roll it out into a rectangle thats about 1/4 inch thick

Make rectangles out of the dough that are all the same size, about 4x6 inches

Put a small amount of the fruit filling on one half of each rectangle, making sure to leave some space around the edges

Use a fork to seal the edges of the other half of the dough around the filling

Place the pastries on the baking sheet that has been prepared

It should be baked in a hot oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and puffs up

Powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract should be mixed together in a small bowl until smooth while the pastries are baking

Let the pastries cool a bit after theyre done baking before adding the icing

Enjoy while still warm
