Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Assorted food coloring gels green, blue, purple, and black
- Buttercream frosting store-bought or homemade
- Edible succulent decorations available at baking supply stores
- Edible glitter optional
Instructions:
Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin
Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl
Put away
Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a different bowl until it is light and fluffy
After adding the vanilla extract, beat in the eggs one at a time
In a different container, mix the milk and sour cream together
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing them in with the milk and sour cream every other time
Start with the dry ingredients and end with the milk and sour cream
Dont mix any further than that
Spread the cupcake batter out evenly among the four bowls
For your galaxy-themed cupcakes, add a few drops of food coloring gel to each bowl and mix until you get the shades of green, blue, purple, and black you want
Put a few spoonfuls of each colored batter into each cupcake liner to make it look like a galaxy
For a marbled look, use a toothpick to slowly swirl the colors together
After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean
Let the cupcakes cool all the way down on a wire rack after taking them out of the oven
Once the cupcakes are cool, cover them with a thick layer of buttercream frosting, making sure the top is smooth
Put edible succulent decorations on top of the buttercream frosting to make it look nice
For a touch of the stars, you can also sprinkle edible glitter on top
