Ingredients:
- 1 cup canned chickpeas, drained
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 1 large lemon
- 1/4 cup well-stirred tahini
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- 2 to 3 tablespoons water
- Dash of ground paprika, for garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
- Assorted vegetables carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers and pita bread for dipping
Instructions:
Lemon juice, tahini, garlic that has been minced, olive oil, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt should all be put into a food processor
As needed, scrape down the sides of the bowl as you blend the ingredients until they are smooth
If the mix is too thick, add two to three tablespoons of water and blend it again until its smooth
If you want to change the flavors of the hummus, you can add more salt or lemon juice
Using the back of a spoon, make a well in the middle of the hummus before putting it on a serving platter
Put some extra-virgin olive oil in the well and sprinkle some ground paprika on top
Add a splash of color and flavor with chopped fresh parsley
Arrange a platter of your best hummus with different kinds of vegetables like bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots and warm pita bread for dipping
