Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of onion rings store-bought or homemade
- 1/2 cup of chili sauce
- 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup of sliced pickled jalapeos
- 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil for frying onion rings
Instructions:
Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties
Season each patty with salt and pepper
Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt
While the burgers are cooking, heat cooking oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350F 175C
Fry the onion rings until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes
Drain them on paper towels
In a small bowl, mix the chili sauce and mayonnaise to create a spicy sauce
To assemble the burgers, spread the spicy sauce on the bottom half of each burger bun
Place a cooked cheeseburger patty on top of the sauce
Add a few pickled jalapeos, a handful of shredded lettuce, and a generous portion of crispy onion rings
Top with the other half of the burger bun, and secure with a toothpick if needed
Serve the Chilli Burger with Onion Rings hot and enjoy
