Ingredients:
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
Grease a donut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius
Blend the pumpkin puree, eggs, brown sugar, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract thoroughly in a mixing bowl
Mix the flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger in a separate bowl along with the baking powder and salt
Blend thoroughly
Stir just until fully combined after adding the dry ingredient mixture to the pumpkin mixture
Take care not to blend too much
Stir the batter until its smooth and thoroughly combined, then gradually add the buttermilk
Spoon or use a piping bag to fill the donut molds in the pan to about two thirds full
When a toothpick is inserted into a donut, it should come out clean after baking for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven
After letting the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling
The donuts can optionally be glazed with cream cheese frosting or a simple sugar glaze, or they can be dusted with powdered sugar
