Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa

The crunchy fried fish, fresh mango salsa, and creamy sauce in these fish tacos with mango salsa taste great together. They are full of flavor and great for eating in the summer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb white fish fillets such as cod or tilapia
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced fresh mango
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional

Instructions:

In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper

Cut the fish fillets into small strips or chunks

Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat

Dip the fish pieces into the flour mixture, making sure they are coated evenly

Fry the fish in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side

Remove and drain on paper towels

In a separate bowl, combine the diced mango, red onion, red bell pepper, cilantro, and lime juice to make the mango salsa

Season with salt and pepper to taste

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, honey, and hot sauce to create a creamy sauce for the tacos

Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 30 seconds

To assemble the tacos, place a spoonful of shredded lettuce on each tortilla, followed by the crispy fish pieces

Top the fish with a generous spoonful of mango salsa and drizzle with the creamy sauce

Serve the fish tacos with extra lime wedges and hot sauce if desired
